Some polymers, due to their high viscosity, sometimes hinder the homogeneous polymerization process.In such cases, the monomers must be polymerized using a large amount of suitable solvents.
After the solution polymerization process is completed, the low-viscosity polymer-solvent solution is usually pre-concentrated by flash evaporation.
The solid content that the solution can be concentrated to is limited by the fluidity of the viscous solution in the flash evaporation container.To achieve a higher solid content, a kneading reactor is required - this is the most ideal and cost-effective technology.
It can concentrate the solution to a solid content of 90% - 95%. Moreover, it can precisely control the temperature of the product.
This can prevent impurities from forming at lower temperatures or thermal degradation of the material at higher temperatures.
